Homeopathy Dosing: When to Stop
In homeopathy, less is more.
Remedies stimulate the body’s own healing response, so once that response is activated, continuing to dose unnecessarily can overstimulate the body or blur the remedy picture.
General Guideline:
Stop dosing when symptoms improve.
Wait and observe. Let the remedy continue working.
A well-matched remedy doesn’t need to be repeated if the body is responding.
Overdosing may cause a “proving” (where symptoms of the remedy reappear).

Think of it like lighting a fire: once the flame is burning, you don’t need to keep striking the match.
I work a lot with the LM potency which is a potency that allows for more frequent repetition in a specific method, but as a general rule for many potencies, once the vital force has been stimulated this is what to watch out for:
If symptoms are improving steadily, hold off and continue observing.
If improvement stops or symptoms start to return, repeat the remedy.
If new symptoms appear or old ones worsen, stop the remedy and let your practitioner know.
Things to note:
In acute cases, you might repeat more frequently (eg every 30 mins for 2-3 doses), as needed, but still stop once there’s clear improvement, or if you have had no response to a seemingly well-indicated remedy (it might not be the right remedy).
In chronic cases, remedies are often spaced further apart, always guided by remedy response and in conjunction with your practitioner.
